Moving from legacy Forest Metrix to v4.

There’s no rush. Legacy Forest Metrix is supported through 2027, so you can move when a new job makes sense for it, and keep finishing older projects in the legacy version.

When you switch, the balance of your legacy account is credited to your new subscription, and the legacy version keeps working for the rest of that subscription period.

Move a legacy project in three steps.

  1. Upgrade your file

    Upload your existing legacy file, from any generation, to the File Upgrade utility. It moves everything into the latest version.

    Latest build: v3.260921

  2. Export your project from the legacy version

    Open the upgraded file and export the project you want to move. It saves a file ready for the new Forest Metrix.

  3. Import it into the new Forest Metrix

    In the new Forest Metrix, import the file and check that species and products match. Every free trial includes project import.
